David Shaw: I Never Considered Leaving For NFL

Stanford head coach David Shaw has been considered for NFL jobs the past few years. Shaw has one of the better jobs in college football and therefore says he hasn’t even considered leaving the college ranks for the next level.

“Never gave it a thought,” Shaw told CBS Sports. “Was not even an option. Before the season started, I said ‘When those calls start happening later in the year, don’t even tell me. Just tell everyone thank you but no thank you.’

“I think what we’re building here is so special that I want to be a part of it. I want to be here. I want everyone to know that I want to be here.”

David Shaw even went on to mention he hasn’t even taken another job interview since becoming the head Stanford coach. In the past Shaw has done an excellent job during draft coverage for NFL Network. If Shaw were to leave for the NFL one day it would probably take the perfect situation with a trusty front office and young quarterback already in place.
