Davante Adams Should Be Considered An Elite Fantasy WR

Everybody knows that Davante Adams is a very good player. Before I begin, I would like to clarify that this is a blog directed to Scott and anybody else on his side. The more I thought about this, the more I couldn’t let it go. In a recent episode of the Vendetta Sports Fantasy Show, Scott proclaimed Davante Adams as one of his Don’t Eat the Cheese candidates. Let’s not let him get away with it.

Davante Adams should be considered an elite fantasy WR. Scott made a big proclamation that it was offensive that Adams was ranked 2nd in terms of wide receivers in fantasy. Well, I have Adams ranked third behind DeAndre Hopkins and Michael Thomas. Adams absolutely belongs inside that top 5 and should be nowhere near a Don’t Eat the Cheese list.

Adams, 27, is in the prime of his career and is the unquestioned number one, two, and three option in Green Bay. There is no reliable number two receiver in Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers doesn’t give a fuck. He will throw Adams the ball the entire game. Adams had 127 targets in 2019 despite missing 4 games. In 2018, the former Fresno State receiver had 169 targets.

Adams also led the NFL in yards per route run on routes outside the number (3.5). Want to hear another stat? Nobody gets thrown the ball more from the 30-yard line and in. Adams had the highest target rate on throws inside the 30-yard line at 35 percent. Only Hunter Renfrow and Cooper Kupp were the only players to even crack that 30 percent mark.

Speaking of that target share inside the red area, Adams is a touchdown hog. In fantasy, I want dudes that get the ball into the end zone. From 2016-2018, Adams had 35 touchdowns. Where do I sign?

Hey, Scott… What are you complaining about? Give me all of the Davante Adams stock. This is a guy who’s proven he’s an elite fantasy option year in and year out. I haven’t even mentioned the fact that Aaron Rodgers is his quarterback. You can sure do worse there. Davante Adams is great and 2020 should be no different.
