Damien Harris signs a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills have finally found an above average running back. Former New England Patriots running back Damien Harris signs a one-year deal with the Bills, according to Adam Schefter.
Oh boy, the Bills are cooking. After a long period of not having a great running back, the Bills have found their guy in Harris. Harris’s one-year contract value is currently not public at the moment.
After a short time behind Derrick Henry at Alabama, Harris broke out during his sophomore year. The 5’10 running back sat behind the now elite running back in Henry during his true freshman season. Harris would not give up his throne as the Crimson Tide’s starting running back. In his career, Harris rushed for a total of almost 3,100 rushing yards and 400 receiving yards. He would add on 25 total touchdowns, 23 rushing and two receiving. Harris had a very impressive yards per carry in his college career with 6.4.
Harris would end up being drafted with the 87th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft by the Patriots. In his time with the Patriots, Harris has accumulated around 2,100 rushing yards and around 300 receiving yards. The 26-year-old has added on 20 rushing touchdowns with an impressive 15 in 2021.
Harris will bring a new dynamic to the Buffalo Bills already electric offense, compromised by Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, and more. With Josh Allen’s rushing ability, this will open up Harris’s time to truly shine in Buffalo as defenses will force to pick between the two. Although Harris faces a crowded backfield of Allen, James Cook, and Nyheim Hines, he will see great results in Buffalo’s offense.
