The Dallas Cowboys were lucky enough to be selected as the host of the 2018 NFL Draft. The event will now be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington which is home to the Cowboys. Last season the event was hosted in Philadelphia which broke a record of 250,000 people that attended the draft.
Roger Goodell had this to say in a press release:
“Philadelphia raised the bar by taking the Draft to another level, and this new opportunity in Dallas will enable us to continue the event’s evolution and grow it even further,” said Goodell. “We are grateful to the Dallas Cowboys, the cities of Arlington, Dallas, and Frisco, and the Dallas Sports Commission for their leadership in turning this vision into reality.”
The Draft will be held from April 26th to April 28th. Philadelphia was able to generate an economic impact of $94 million during the 2016 Draft which Dallas will try to surpass. Dallas now becomes the fourth city to host the draft in the past five years. New York, Chicago, Philly, and now Dallas becomes the fourth.
Jerry Jones, the Dallas Cowboys owner has to be pleased with the news. He has tried to land the NFL Scouting Combine and NFL Draft in the past for his beloved city.
