The Cowboys are all in according to Jerry Jones. Except for the fact that Dallas literally signed no one this offseason. Well… other than bringing back Ezekiel Elliott. Michael Gallup were among the players who departed Dallas this offseason and the Cowboys will count on a number of younger internal players to fill those voids. Jalen Tolbert is one player who will be counted on to make a major leap for the 2024-25 NFL Season.
Cowboys wide receiver coach Robert Prince had this to say on Tolbert:
“We expect all of those guys to make a jump,” Prince said, via the team’s website. “It starts with [Tolbert]. He made a big jump from Year One to Year Two, and we expect the same thing to happen for him going into Year Three.”
CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks will fill the top two spots but Tolbert is going to be counted on for a much bigger role this season. While it hasn’t been anything major, Tolbert has improved during his time in the league. The former South Alabama product went from two receptions as a rookie to 22 a season ago. We’re just going to need to see way more in 2024 as the third receiver in the option.
The positive is that Jake Ferguson has taken major strides and can be counted on in the passing game too.
The rest of the Cowboys depth chart at wide out also includes Jalen Brooks, Ryan Flournoy, KaVontae Turpin, Jalen Cropper, and Racey McMath.
