Corey Kiner 2025 NFL Draft Profile

We’re working our way through the running backs here with the 2025 NFL Draft profile series. Corey Kiner gets put through the wringer next. Let’s have a chat about everything you need to know on the Cincinnati running back.

NFL Draft Stock Report: East-West (1), (2), (3), Game

Kiner, 23, actually spent his first year at LSU. He got some playing time there but it was pretty apparent that he was never going to be a dude there. He followed that up with three years at Cincinnati with the final two seasons being the only relevant ones. Former four star recruit but was never going to crack the rotation at LSU.

The last two years were fine. Rushed for 1,047 yards at 5.5 YPC with five scores two years ago. This past year, we’re looking at 1,153 yards at 5.7 YPC with four scores. Not a big factor in the passing game with 28 receptions those years combined. It’s fine for playing in the American Conference, I guess.

I’ll just be honest here; I couldn’t have been less impressed with Kiner during the pre-draft process. Feels incredibly limited to me. I thought he sucked at the East-West game. Ditto for the Combine. He’s also 5-foot-8, 209, and never feels like he has a physically imposing run style. Pure movement skills were underwhelming and feels like he’s a third down back but not actually talented to do said third down duties.

A 4.57 time at the 40 was one of the worst marks in the group too. If you’re not running with power, you can’t lack juice too. Thought he was one of the worst performers in the group at the Combine and failed in passing game stuff, which is what played out in college too. The on-field performance there was gross. He isn’t a total bum but there’s no real talent here. No long speed, no crazy balance, no untapped potential.

I have an undrafted grade on Kiner. He was so bad during the predraft process and never produced like a stud at a smaller school enough to take seriously. That’s about all there is to say on this one.
