The Arizona Diamondbacks are back in the playoffs and the casual MLB fan is getting their first taste of Corbin Carroll. Odds are you’re enjoying your stay, but I want to talk about the fantasy baseball angle of what’s going on. If we learned anything this year, it’s that Carroll is going to be a fantasy baseball superstar for a very long time.
Carroll, 23, is already signed to a long term deal with Arizona. A really smart move by the club because he’s worth way more than he was prior to the start of the season. The Seattle native slashed .285/.362/.506 with 25 homers and 54 steals in his first full year at the MLB level. Again… this is just the beginning.
I just finished my first year playing fantasy baseball. I’m not sure I’m an expert yet despite winning the league in my first year. All I know is Carroll needs to be viewed as a top end play. I’m not sure how many guys you would rather have. He’s a category king collecting in virtually every stat that matters. Carroll is a lock to win the NL Rookie of the Year Award. Even as a rookie, Carroll finished 5th among outfielders in fantasy points.
I’m not sure what more there is to say. Carroll is going to be a fantasy baseball superstar for a very long time. Between the high average, steals, and power, it’s hard to imagine taking many players ahead of him heading into 2024.
