Cleveland Browns 2019 NFL Draft War Room

2019 NFL Draft
John Dorsey has plopped his nuts on the table and put together an unreal roster. Can he continue the momentum with a strong 2019 Draft Class? Let’s head inside the war room! (John Kuntz / cleveland.com)

The Cleveland Browns have made splash offseason pickup after splash offseason pickup. The Browns traded two draft picks for Odell Beckham so this war room series will be short. Cleveland still holds two draft picks within the first 3 rounds of the draft so there is still room to improve the roster. What will John Dorsey do during the 2019 NFL Draft? Let’s head inside the Cleveland Browns war room.

Second Round (Pick 49) – Can’t go wrong with a corner here. Denzel Ward has been great but he needs a sidekick. Teams will target the opposite corner a hell of a lot more now that everyone knows how good Ward is. I feel like I’ve been repeating these names a lot recently so go check out the combine article on the corners. It’s a real hit or miss group but you figure Dorsey can make the most of his pick.

Third Round (Pick 81) – Safety sounds great here. I think the Browns really believe in Damarious Randall at one spot. Derrick Kindred is the other starter. One safety I really like is Darnell Savage. He’s going to be a steal but maybe they want more of a box safety after trading Jabril Peppers? The only issue is that really doesn’t exist in this draft. For some reason, Deionte Thompson is projected to get drafted in this range. That’s a steal for any team. He might be the best pure cover safety available. That might be the route the Browns take in the 3rd round.

This Browns team is flat out loaded. If they don’t win the AFC North, personnel people and coaches should be thrown in jail. If you put together an All-AFC North roster, 90 percent of the players would belong to Cleveland. John Dorsey has a chance to continue that momentum with another strong draft.
