College football quarterbacks are getting paid like never before. CJ Stroud won’t have to wait to make his money before entering the NFL. The Ohio State quarterback has inked an NIL deal with Mercedes G Wagon.
The details of the deal are WILD! VIA NY POST.
The Buckeyes’ quarterback inked a Name, Image and Likeness deal with Sarchione Auto Gallery, a car dealership in Canton, Ohio. While initial reports suggested that Stroud would be driving a $150,000 Bentley Bentayga, the quarterback “changed his mind” and opted for a $200,000 Mercedes G Wagon, according to NBC4 in Ohio.
According to ABC6, he’s able to swap out vehicles every 45-60 days as part of the sponsorship deal.
Stroud, 20, is expected to be one of the first quarterbacks off the board for the 2023 NFL Draft. Currently, he’s my second rated QB just behind Bryce Young who is coming off a Heisman winning season. The 2023 NFL Draft is expected to be a loaded group at the quarterback position so Stroud will have to continue to progress if he wants to hear his name called early on draft day.
It’s a big year for the Ohio State quarterback. He’s coming off a 44 touchdown, six interception season, and more importantly, held off Quinn Ewers who transferred to Texas. Of course, Stroud will need to prove he can succeed after Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave have officially entered the NFL.
Then again, weapons won’t be an issue at Ohio State. Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Emeka Egbuka will fill in just fine. Trust me.
