Rest assured world, Chrissy Teigen is back on Twitter after announcing her “retirement” from the app on March 24th. Teigen was a staple on the social media platform, having an opinion and a take on everything and everyone. When American society took a turn for the worse and everything became so political, being on social media was not as fun anymore. That combined with some INSANE theories that she was some sort of baby-eating, and a world-controlling imaginary group of people caused her to delete the account.
Anyways, she was back tweeting again less than a month later, saying “I chose to take the bad with the good!!”
The move is not surprising at all, I mean who doesn’t love Twitter. I am scrolling on that bird app all day. It is where I get my news, follow storylines and stay up to date with whatever my heart desires. It is the first app I open when I wake up, and the last app I am on before I go to sleep.
Her follower count in less than 24 hours of tweeting again is almost at 14 million, and she has tweeted six times in less than 12 hours. The former Sports Illustrated rookie of the year for her appearances in their swimsuit edition parlayed her success and made herself a brand.
She is married to John Legend, and they have two children together who often appear in content she shares on social media. Unfortunately, Tiegen experienced complications and were unable to have their third child. I cannot begin to understand what kind of mental toll that takes on a person, and social media can be a difficult place to be under those circumstances.
I am sure she will still receive some hate, but having Teigen back on Twitter chopping it up makes me think we are getting back to some normalcy.
