I wish I was trolling with this article. The title is not clickbait. Chris Simms outright said that it was not a good idea to donate money to a GoFundMe that goes to the family of a recently deceased Dolphins fan. Here is video proof.
Here is the full context of Simms’ comments, and it’s not better.

He starts by saying it’s a nice gesture and a horrible thing, but then immediately goes into “he trolled me a lot.” Florio then goes into saying it’s better to be trolled than ignored because people are… https://t.co/N3VIWtZB3U pic.twitter.com/AB3UrH8GzU
The GoFundMe in question is for the family of Eric Carmona. You may not know who Eric was, but a Twitter account started and run by Eric garnered national media attention.
Eric is the creator of TuAnon, a troll Twitter account designed to promote positivity around Miami’s starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. While on his way to work, Eric was tragically killed in a car crash. He leaves behind his wife and four young kids.
I know fans like to argue and beef about their favorite teams, but help support the Dolphins community on behave of the family of Eric Carmona, the person behind TuAnon @TheGaluminati account who passed away last week.https://t.co/KkLJfq3edT

People across the football landscape came together to help raise money for Eric’s family. Even Tua made a massive donation to help the family. The outpouring of support shows how strong the NFL family is and that there really is some good in this world. That is until we get to people like Chris Simms.
I, and others at this company, have ripped Simms many times, but nothing to the level that I am about to now. Tua lives in his head rent free and Simms is a notorious Tua hater. The unwarranted hatred of Tua made Simms a prime target for TuAnon and Simms would get all in his feelings when the tweets started flying.
So because Eric trolled you on occasion, no one should donate to help his family?
How low of a human being do you have to be to say something like this? How insecure in yourself are you that you let some dude on the internet get to you this bad? You don’t think it’s a good idea to be a decent person and donate even just a little to help a family out?
Carmona was a real person with real kids that no longer have their dad. Even your own company thinks you’re in the wrong. PFT removed this section from your podcast.
Weird that PFT cut out Simms’ comments on Eric Carmona from their podcast. You can hear Florio go into Tua donating the $10k and then they skip to the next segment. Even PFT knows you were in the wrong, time to own up to it @CSimmsQB pic.twitter.com/rJwzp70TZ4

Chris Simms should be ashamed of himself. The only way to make this right would be to donate, even just a little, to the family. I’ve disliked Simms for his NFL takes, but now I know exactly what kind of person he is.
