After being traded from the Phoenix Suns only a few days before, longtime veteran point guard Chris Paul is moving once more. The Golden State Warriors have shaken up their roster once again in trading for CP3. Golden State moves on from young point guard Jordan Poole after seemed like a collapse in production during his second season with the team.
In total, the Wizards will receive Poole, a 2030 protected first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick in exchange for Paul.
Last season, Paul has one of his worst seasons in the NBA. He had his lowest scoring season in his NBA career, averaging 13.9 points and shot only 44 percent from the field, the fourth-worst shooting percentage of his career. Paul also seemed to be more of a negative than a positive in the playoffs last season before his injury. He shot 41.4 percent and 42.9 percent from the field in the two series, respectively, with his best playoffs scoring output being 19 points.
On the other side of the deal, Poole seemed to increase his scoring in the regular season, but plumaged in the postseason.
Poole, who is known for his spark off the bench for the Warriors, failed expectations in the playoffs, shooting 34.1 percent from the field and 25.4 percent from 3-point range last postseason. He also would only average 10 points per game in 22 minutes played.
Who won this blockbuster trade? The Wizards or the Warriors? Let us know in the comments!
