We know two things to be true; The Spurs have cap space and rumors are that James Harden could leave Philadelphia for a team in the state of Texas. Could the Spurs throw the max at Harden in an effort to surround Victor Wembanayama with a proper supporting cast? Better yet, let’s head inside the brain of Spurs superfan Chickster to see how they should properly spend their cap space.

Gabe Vincent:

Chickster Take: Obviously, Gabe Vincent deserves the max over Harden. Do you ever see Vincent in the Miami strip clubs? That man cares about basketball. Harden clearly doesn’t. Give Vincent the max. If Vincent can thrive in Heat Culture then he can thrive in Gregg Popovich’s get off my lawn style of basketball.

Grant Williams:

Chickster Take: We don’t have confirmation on if Chickster likes thic boys but we do know he believes Grant Williams should get the max over Harden. Did you know Grant Williams shot 39.5% from three last year? That’s better than what Harden did. Grant won SEC player of the year twice and his mom works for NASA. Can Harden say those things? No.

Rui Hachimura:

Chickster Take: Rui suffered through all those bad Washington teams and never quit on his team. Never even requested a trade. That shows heart. More heart than Harden has. Hachimura > Harden on the max please.

James Harden Is A Cancer, There’s No Question About It

Dillon Brooks:

Chickster Take: Dillon Brooks might be a loser but he’s less of a loser than Harden. Shannon Sharpe never battled with Harden so we know which is more important. Brooks at least tries to play defense. Can you say that about Harden? Has Harden ever averaged 40 points per game? That means Dillon Brooks doesn’t respect him which means he deserves the max.

Max Strus:

Chickster Take: Strus played for DePaul in the Big East. That already makes him more worthy of Harden getting the max. Harden played at Arizona State and was a nobody. Did any Pac 12 team advance deep in March Madness this year? I didn’t think so.

Also, Strus was a starting player in the NBA Finals. Harden never did that. He came off the bench for the Thunder. Of course, you’re giving Strus the max over Harden.
