Justin Fields is not the problem with the Chicago Bears and their fans know it too! Now that the Bears have the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft (via the Carolina Panthers), the 103-year-old franchise needs to select Marvin Harrison Jr. with the No. 1 pick.
It would be a downright mistake for the Bears to select Caleb Williams first overall. Not only can he be a diva at times, the Bears just don’t need him at all. Williams has proved he can be a star player in the NFL, but based on character issues and potentially pulling an Eli Manning on draft night … that’s a risk the Bears can’t take. It wouldn’t make any sense.
Why start over at a position that you already have? It’s just taking an extra step back that you can’t take in the NFL. The Bears rush their quarterbacks’ development way too much and if they take Williams, it’ll only be the same thing. Insanity.
Harrison is not only the most talented wide receiver in this class, but the best player. No wide receiver in college can touch this man’s talent. He is unstoppable (even with Kyle McCord as his QB). Over his last two seasons at Ohio State, the 6-foot-4 wideout caught 144 balls for almost 2,500 yards and 28 touchdowns.
I think I can say this for all Bears fans that their ownership and Rylan Poles downright suck. He might’ve taken David Tepper and Scott Fitterer’s lunch money like a bully in elementary school, but one trade doesn’t make you a phenomenal general manager.
After all, his insanity is slowly taking over his decisions by taking into consideration actually drafting Williams. He’s not actually looking into what the team needs and what the fans want. It’s like Justin Fields didn’t just improve immensely this season in his reads and has become an actual good passer in the NFL. Add one of the best wide receiver prospects in the modern-day NFL and you got a pretty damn good offense.
If Poles were actually smart, he would do this. Take that $60 million that you have opened next free agency and actually spend it. Take that money and go get an offensive lineman, for Christ’s sake. How are you supposed to draft a quarterback in the same scenario and expect anything different? It’s a constant cycle of insanity for the Chicago Bears.
If Marvin Harrison Jr.’s name isn’t the first one taken off the board, Bears fans will riot. He is the best player in the draft and the best fit for the Bears. Stick with Fields, give him some weapons, get him an offensive line, and turn your franchise around. Case Closed.
