Chelsea Pay for Havertz

Chelsea has made big headlines with their transfer deals this summer. Frank Lampard made two big moves with signing Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech. Next on the list of transfers is Kai Havertz. According to Sky Italy, Chelsea is willing to pay for a Havertz move.

The reported amount is $91 million for the 21-year-old. Bayer Leverkusen is happy to make the deal for that amount of money. Chelsea’s bid will be coming out within the next few days.

Chelsea has already spent $103 million combined for Werner and Ziyech. All of this investment is in hopes that their offensive line will be a strong force next year. Lampard has been building a young offensive team, and he’s done a good job of it. With Werner, Ziyech, Havertz and Christian Pulisic, the offensive line is strong.

It looks as if Willian and Pedro will be leaving this summer as free agents. Many fans are upset with the idea of them leaving. They’re in their thirties, and no longer align with Lampard’s vision. But it would be sad to see them join any rival teams. Both are still playmakers and goal scorers, just like Olivier Giroud. Many may want them to finish out their careers with the Blues. But the players may not want to compete for playing time with all of the younger players coming in.

The offensive line is coming together great. However, their defense needs to be pieced together. So far, there are no notable defensive transfers. It also looks like they are also trying to get rid of Kepa Arrizabalaga on a player swap deal.

Lampard has been able to bring a lot of success to Chelsea this year. They are most likely going to place in the top four of the Premier League this year. They have a chance to get far in FA Cup and Champions League.

Even though the deal is almost closed, Havertz is still on the Leverkusen roster. He is still scheduled to play in UEFA Europa League with Leverkusen.

All eyes will be on Chelsea next year to see what Lampard can do with this great offensive line.
