If you haven’t seen the Charles Barkley interview on Spittin Chiclets, please stop what you’re doing and give it a watch. It’s entertaining from start to finish and kept me hooked the entire time. Those pods run VERY long but it’s worth the watch. I’ll drop that below for you if you want to watch the entire episode. With the 2023 NHL Conference Finals set to start tonight, you just may want to watch the entire episode.

There were a lot of great stories in there but the best one might be when Chuck talked about his drunk game. I’m sure this isn’t the first time he told this story but it’s fascinating to listen to. For those that don’t watch the entire show, check out this hilarious clip.

Charles Barkley thought he was traded to the Lakers, went out and celebrated, the trade fell through, so he played an NBA game shit faced.

Imagine the butterfly effect on this one. If Barkley gets traded to the Lakers, does he end up with a championship ring instead of zero? Barkley was later traded to the Suns and the closest he ever got to winning that illustrious title is when the Suns lost in the Finals to the Michael Jordan-led Bulls in 1993. Maybe Barkley still never gets his ring but it’s hard to not imagine the what if scenario. Also, Barkley in a Lakers jersey is semi mind blowing.

Also, you just know the modern day athlete would have never played if this happened to them. Especially with the way social media is now. Stuff like this just wouldn’t happen anymore. Respect to Barkley to suiting up while drunk. There will never be another guy like him.
