Charles Barkley: The Lakers Stink
Charles Barkley is done talking about the Lakers. If we’re being real, Barkley is just doing his job for every NBA fan out there that doesn’t have the same reach that he does. Why are the Lakers always on TV? This team stinks! Chucks just not afraid to say it.
“The Lakers stink,” Barkley said when asked to recap the first half. “Y’all forcing us to show them all the time like they’re going to be good.”
“It’s a conspiracy,” he added. “And then we got all these clowns on television having to talk about them every day”
“We don’t ever talk about the Washington Wizards, do we? Ever,” Barkley said. “Do we ever mention the Washington Wizards? The great Bradley Beal? No.
“But, for some reason, these morning talk shows and us, we have to show the Lakers all the time. The Lakers stink.”
The man does have a point. The Lakers stink, nobody really wants to watch them, and I can’t remember the last time I saw a talk show on a mainstream media company do a segment on Bradley Beal. All of Chuck’s feelings here are totally valid. The Lakers are currently a 12 seed in the West with a record of 11-16 and could easily miss the play-in game.
Last season the Lakers had more national TV games than any other team in the league. A team that’s been god awful since they decided to give up the backbone of their team for the biggest cancer the NBA has ever seen.
Turning the NBA on at night instead of hockey is already a tough enough ask. Forcing the Lakers down our throat what seems like every night is just a non-starter. Thank you, Charles Barkley. Sincerely, every sports fan everywhere. Even Lakers fans know they stink.
