Channing Tindall: The Best Sleeper Prospect In The 2022 NFL Draft?

At some point, we just have to accept the fact that the Georgia Bulldogs were the best team in college football this season. For whatever reason, that hasn’t been the case for the way the 2022 NFL Draft appears to be shaking out. The best sleeper prospect in the draft has been sitting under our noses the entire time. Why aren’t more people paying attention to Channing Tindall?

We just need to accept the fact that Georgia has better players than everyone else. The recruiting war is no longer a war. Georgia now has seven guys at the same position who are better than whoever Missouri has. It’s just the way the world works now.

The only red flag being held against Tindall is the fact that he didn’t really get a ton of playing time at Georgia. What most people don’t understand is, that’s the case for almost any other linebacker. Nakobe Dean is a stud. Ditto for Quay Walker. There aren’t a lot of guys getting meaningful snaps on this team that suck outside of Stetson Bennett. Actually, he’s the only one.

Tindall’s combine was awesome. You can say the same about his Senior Bowl. The only difference is we really got to see those athletic traits pop. Tindall checked in at 6-foot-2, 230 which is good. He’s not one of those safeties that you’re too concerned that he’s only a linebacker cause he can’t catch or cover.

The 40 was off the charts good. We’ll take 4.47 all day. The jumping numbers were absurd (42 vert, 129 broad). What is everybody missing here? We have a guy that constantly finds his way to the ball on a historic defense and then puts up that combine? I don’t need any more information.

I saw all I needed to see anyway during his senior year at Georgia. 67 tackles and 5.5 sacks work for me. Especially for an interior guy. He was all over the field in the National Title Game. Wherever he gets picked, it will be too low.
