After weeks of deliberation, Chad Gable confirmed that he had re-signed his contract with WWE. In an interview with Gorilla Position, Gable responds to the outright question asked on whether or not he re-signed with the company, simply stating “Yes I have.”
Gable further explained why he decided to re-sign with WWE. He ultimately stated the choice had to do with WWE’s creative team and the new era of COO Paul “Triple H” Levesque. Gable went on to say:
“What I’ll say regarding [Paul Levesque] is when he got started with us and took over, I think you saw my trajectory change almost immediately. Even when I was on a tag team with Otis, I started getting a lot of singles matches with some of our top guys. To me, a light bulb went off, and it’s like, ‘Things might be different now,’ and they have been ever since.”
Chad Gable appears to be hopeful about his future with the company. He expressed his eagerness to know the direction WWE is taking him and the “promises” being delivered by management. He went on to say:
“Even if we only had a minute or two minutes on TV every week, we were getting it, and we were involved in something, and maximizing our minutes. The fact that he delivers on what he [Levesque] says, I think has gone a long way for someone like me. And now, I think that’s paying off tenfold cause and I’m having the run of my life right now and just having a blast.” Currently, the length of Gable’s new contract remains uncertain, but it is likely to believe that he may be around for quite some time.
This weekend, Chad Gable faced Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at Clash at the Castle. Gable came up short in his opportunity to claim the title with no help from Alpha Academy members Maxinne Dupri and Otis. Following the conclusion of the match, Gable is seen visibly upset that he couldn’t get the job done and take the title from Sami Zayn. Zayn indicated that their feud was indeed “done”, but that does not seem likely given the circumstances. With a new contract for Gable, it may not be long before a new champion is crowned.
