Watching the Celtics’ season crumble was like watching a Lamar Jackson playoff game. I was forced to argue about why my team botched things and all of the warning signs I tried to tell you came true. The Celtics never needed Malcolm Brogdon and it showed. Brogdon was ALWAYS the wrong move for this Celtics team.
Trey is owed an apology and Brad Stevens belongs in jail. The argument is over and done with. During the biggest stretch of the season, the guy that was proclaimed the missing piece to a title team predictably didn’t show up.
Two things that are still wild to me about end of Game 6 …

Derrick White had played only 12 seconds of crunch time against Heat before Game 6. Brogdon injury ensured he was out there in the biggest moment. He made the most of it.
I think this is my favorite Tweet of the year. One of the greatest moments in Celtics history vanishes if Brogdon plays in Game 6. Sometimes you’re one injury away from being a better basketball team. Derrick White needs to play more and his minutes shouldn’t be vanished by an inferior injury prone option.
Game 7 with the season on the line, Brogdon was 0-3 in seven minutes. Brogdon was -15 in those seven minutes.
I want my apology. I had this on lock from jump street. Malcolm Brogdon was never the piece that was going to get you over the hump and you were a fool to ever believe that was the case. With the season on the line, all of the things I said came true. Brad Stevens doubled and tripled down on injury prone nonsense like Brogdon and it cost the Celtics a title. It should be deemed as unforgivable and moving on from Brogdon this offseason is something that has to be done.
