LeVert, 28, is coming off a solid 2022-23 campaign, posting averages of 12.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Those numbers were largely fueled by his 39.4% shooting from behind the arch.
LeVert was a productive piece for the Cavaliers as he contributed with scoring off the bench. The Michigan product can start if needed as well. In 74 games played, he cracked the starting lineup 30 times.
LeVert’s $16 annual price tag will make him the fourth-highest-paid member of the Cavaliers behind Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen. The short length of the contract will provide Cleveland with long-term flexibility which will help as they look to extend Evan Mobley next summer. In the worst-case scenario, it will be easier for the Cavaliers to find suitors for LeVert if they need to get off his contract in the future.
In 2022-23, the Cavaliers found success as they won 51 games which was enough to secure the four seed in the Eastern Conference. Unfourtnely, they were unable to find success in the playoffs as the New York Knicks were able to eliminate them in the first round.
LeVert was Cleveland’s only major contributor to hit free agency. As of right, it looks like the Cavaliers will not have much turnover as they look to turn the corner next season. Still, it would not be a surprise if they opted to bring add more talent this offseason as they look to improve the depth of their wing room.
