Has anybody raised their stock more than Cam Ward this college football season? Miami has the number one offense in the country and Ward ranks first among all FBS quarterbacks in passing touchdowns (25), passing yards (2538), and QBR (92.3).
Now he’s raking in the dollars too. Luckily for him it’s the year 2024 and NIL money very much exists for the top quarterbacks in college football.
The Canes quarterback is signing an NIL deal with Adidas.
“Cam Ward, in his fifth and final college football season, is a favorite to win the coveted Heisman trophy and is one of the top draft prospects halfway through the season–it’s not hard to see why when he’s throwing up the numbers he is. His leadership and video-game numbers has his undefeated team on the precipice of an exciting playoff run,” Adidas released in a statement. “
It is worth noting that the Miami Hurricanes are already partnered with Adidas. Given that fact, this was probably an easy deal to get done. The Canes have been partnered with Adidas since 2015. It’s really a matter of if this will carry over once Ward reaches the NFL level.
Ward, 22, will likely be one of the first names called during the 2025 NFL Draft. Depending on how the rest of the season goes, a Heisman Trophy could be in his future too. National Championship too? Maybe?
Feel free to comment. How do you feel about the attention Ward has been getting? Is it warranted?
