Browns Acquire Odell Beckham For Draft Pick Compensation And Jabril Peppers

Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham played together at LSU. Now they will play together with the Browns. Beckham has been traded to the Browns in exchange for a first and third round pick along with Jabril Peppers.

Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report the news:

First, let’s start with the fact that the Giants GM is a liar. I would fire him tomorrow for that sole reason. Gettleman said this at the combine:

“We didn’t sign Odell Beckham to trade him. I know that’s all over the place right now, but we didn’t sign him to trade him,” Gettleman said without being asked. “That’s all I need to say about that.”

Having said that, I love this for the Giants minus the Jabril Peppers part. He kind of stinks. I would have requested a player like Larry Ogunjobi at the worst. I really would have pushed for Nick Chubb and traded Saquon Barkley for a heist. That’s just me. Other than that, I’m dealing Odell for a 1st and third round pick every single day of the week. The only problem is they should have traded him before the contract extension. Now the Giants are going to carry $21 million in dead cap, a quarterback who sucks, and an overrated running back who runs backward half the time instead. This is a poorly run franchise.

On the Browns side of things, this is a good gamble for Cleveland. John Dorsey keeps dropping his nuts on the table. I don’t see how the Browns don’t win the division. The Ravens are stupid. The Steelers are a total mess within the locker room. The Bengals? Well, nobody ever takes them seriously.

Beckham, 26, is one of the best receivers in football… when healthy. In 12 games, Beckham caught 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns.
