Bronny James Suffers Cardiac Arrest At USC Workout

USC Freshman and All-American Bronny James reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest at a USC workout on Monday. TMZ Sports was the first news outlet to break the news of James’ event.

A spokesperson for the James family put out this statement:

“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information. LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”

According to reports, Bronny James is in stable condition and is no longer in the ICU. Shams Charania tweeted about the updated condition of James on Twitter.

The son of NBA superstar LeBron James, Bronny James has come into his own as a prospect over the course of his high school career. At Sierra Canyon, Bronny put up an average of 14 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists during his final season.

Bronny James was listed as the No. 22 ranked prospect nationally of the 2023 class, per 247Sports. He decided to stay close to family and play college ball at USC over his other final schools Ohio State and Oregon. The decision might have had something to do with the fact that his father plays for the Los Angeles Lakers and he would remain close to his family.

Unwarranted Hate

The journey for Bronny James into the NBA was never going to be easy. On top of the grind to be good enough to make it, he has LeBron James as his dad. I remember seeing high school games of Michael Jordan‘s sons way back in the day, with people wondering if they would make it to the league. Spoiler alert, they never did.

LeBron is very much a polarizing figure in the NBA world. Because of that, Bronny will endure much unfair scrutiny. Skip Bayless is a renowned LeBron hater and has already started his hate train for Bronny. Let’s just hope that Skip doesn’t tweet about this like the Damar Hamlin situation.
