Brock Lesnar recently returned to WWE television. He was set to face the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, in a last-man-standing match at SummerSlam. This was being advertised as the final match between Roman and Brock. We might have to wait a little longer to get the final match because Brock Lesnar walked out of Smackdown.
Brock Lesnar was set to be a big part of Smackdown tonight, that was before he walked out. Lesnar walked out of Smackdown due to the recent news of Vince McMahon retiring from the WWE. According to Fightful Select, there were immediate reports that Lesnar was “very pissed off” about McMahon’s retiring and proceeded to walk out of the show. The plans for Smackdown are now “in flux”, according to Cultaholic Wrestling. It’s been reported by Bryan Alvarez that after hearing the news about McMahon, Lesar said some form of “if he’s gone, I’m gone”.
Smackdown for tonight, July 22nd, is being rewritten to not feature Brock Lesnar. Nothing has been announced from WWE as of writing this about Lesnar. His future is in jeopardy now with speculation of a former WCW legend to take his place at SummerSlam. According to Cultaholic Wrestling, a source told them that they are still going to try to convince Brock to return for SummerSlam over the next week. SummerSlam takes place on July 30th, so they are going to have to work fast to find a replacement. It will be interesting to see how WWE handles this situation in relation to how they handled Sasha Banks and Naomi walking out. WWE buried Naomi and Sasha on television for walking out, but I have a feeling they won’t handle this situation that same way.
