It’s Brevyn Spann-Ford time for the 2024 NFL Draft Profile. I promise this one won’t take long so just mentally prepare yourself for this scouting report.
I’m going to use the same analogy I used for Spann-Ford at the Senior Bowl.
“Minnesota tight end belongs in the aisle at Home Depot for when people shop for fridges. That’s not a football player. When the ball is in the air he may as well be the Buffalo Wild Wings panic button. Never know what’s going to happen. Can’t make the easy play.”
That’s all that really needs to be said. Uncoordinated turd that you just can’t trust as a receiver unless you’re lighting a prayer candle that he can win a jump ball in the end zone. Spent six years at Minnesota and finished the 2023 season with 25 receptions for 239 yards and two scores. It’s just not good enough.
I actually mentioned him during the stock report notes. Could be an interesting big body if he could move. However, we found out pretty quickly that the house, in this case, does not move. Ran a 4.77, which is just gross. Didn’t post good numbers in the leaping events either. Checks in at 6-foot-6, 260, and will very much be a Y tight end. Can block but I don’t really see nasty to his game. Super heavy footed and can’t separate at all.
I have an undrafted grade on Brevyn Spann-Ford. Don’t see how he’s an NFL player other than filling a void as a potential blocker while catching the occasional pass while nobody covers him.
