Breaking: Trevon Diggs Out For The Season With A Torn ACL
Star cornerback Trevon Diggs of the Dallas Cowboys has suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season, Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport reported Thursday. It’s a devastating injury for the team.

Diggs recently signed a massive 5-year, $97 million extension with the team before the season started and was balling out to start the year.
Before this brutal injury, Diggs had allowed just a 1.0 passer rating in coverage through two games. According to PFF, against the New York Jets in Week 2, Diggs played like the best corner in the NFL.
When targeted, which he was 5 times, Diggs allowed 0 catches, recorded an interception and 2 pass breakups, and allowed a 0.0 passer rating.
The Cowboys’ defense has only allowed 10 points in 8 quarters and ranks 1st in takeaways per game (3.5), pass yards allowed per game (107), and sack percentage (14.93%).
According to reports by Tom Pelissero, Diggs suffered the injury in a non-contact 1-on-1 drill. Before the MRI confirmed the injury, Diggs was walking on crutches after leaving the practice field.
With Diggs out for the year, the Cowboys will surely be making some calls. After running back Nick Chubb went down with a gruesome knee injury on Monday night, the Browns immediately signed Kareem Hunt to a one-year deal.
There are a few corners in free agency that could potentially find a landing spot in Dallas. Greedy Williams, former Cowboy Xavier Rhodes, William Jackson III, and Cameron Dantzler are just a few players who are currently available.
