I just did the profile on Sai’vion Jones. Now we’re doing the other LSU pass rusher, Bradyn Swinson. I think the consensus may be a touch too high on Swinson and we’re going to talk about why next in this edition of the 2025 NFL Draft profile series!
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 9, Week 12, Texas Bowl
Swinson, 22, was a three star prospect out of the state of Georgia. The redshirt senior first attended Oregon for three years but then finished off the last two with LSU. At Oregon, there’s next to zero production to speak of. Even in 2023, Swinson was a non-factor. This past year is what put him on radars after a 8.5 sack season.
I would say the Combine performance was a bit underwhelming. No 40 yard dash and he looked uncoordinated during the drills. Way too high cut and looked lowkey drunk. When you’re this much of a late riser and your pure movement skills stink, it sure has to make you nervous. What if he only had success because of being older than everyone?
Swinson definitely had some moments this year. You can see them for yourself in the stock notes. 43 pressures this past year is no joke. The problem is it’s a total one-year wonder with only 16 the previous year. Although, like I said in the other LSU profile, I like Jones way better.
I like Bradyn Swinson. I wouldn’t say I like him, but he would be a great get in the round 3-5 range. I’m not sure he makes it that far, but I have Swinson pegged as a nice developmental edge rusher with some decent upside.
