Bradley Chubb traded to Miami Dolphins

The Denver Broncos have traded premier linebacker Bradley Chubb to the Miami Dolphins ahead of the 2022 NFL Trade Deadline, NFL.com insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. Miami received a 2025 5th rounder, in addition to Chubb, while giving up a 2023 first-round pick (via San Francisco), a 2024 fourth-round pick along with running back Chase Edmonds, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Miami’s reportedly planning on extending Chubb — who’s in the final year of his rookie deal, where he’s making approximately $7.1 million — to a longterm deal, Schefter reported. His deadcap will now be $12.7 million.

The Dolphins have allocated the three first-round picks acquired from San Francisco in the Trey Lance trade beautifully. According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, they have now parted with all three of them — in separate trades for Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill and now Chubb.

That’s pretty good, right?

The Dolphins stay making moves!

The Dolphins needed help on the defensive side of the football (as our own Jackson Law, a Dolphins fan, indicated on Twitter recently), and now have acquired a 26-year old EDGE rusher who’s had a resurgent 2022 campaign, logging 26 tackles, — 15 solo — with four tackles-for-loss, 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in eight games.

Bradley Chubb possesses the NFL’s third-best individual pass-rush win rate this season among EDGE rushers — behind only Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett — according to ESPN’s Stats and Information.

As a rookie in 2018, Bradley Chubb was an All-Pro honoree, when he had 60 tackles, 14 tackles-for-loss, 12.0 sacks and a pair of forced fumbles. The linebacker was third in defensive rookie of the year voting behind Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James and Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaq Leonard, who won the award. Chubb also made the Pro Bowl in 2020.

The Dolphins, at 5-3, are going for it, y’all. And they should! A top-tier grab for Chris Grier.
