Bill Belichick: ‘Pro Football Talk Not A Good Source’

I think it might be safe to say Bill Belichick isn’t exactly the biggest fan of the Pro Football Talk website hosted by NBC Sports. The new North Carolina head coach absolutely flamed PFT during his most recent interview on the Pat McAfee Show.

“We’re all set. We’re full speed ahead,” Belichick said of his duties as the Tar Heels’ head coach during Wednesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show. “Pro Football Talk’s not a good source for me.”

If you don’t know what Belichick is referring to, the tweet below sums it up pretty well. Mike Florio has been making up rumors for weeks that Belichick was gearing up to bolt UNC for the first intriguing NFL job that opened.

Michael Lombardi had this to say a few weeks ago.

This version of Belichick is just so much cooler. Now that he’s in college, the guy just flames whoever he wants in the NFL. It’s just so damn entertaining. I hope he keeps appearing on the McAfee show because his quotes are gold. Ditto for Lombardi.

Let’s be real about it. Nobody takes Mike Florio seriously. The guy totally sucks at his job. When people tell you who they are believe them. Anybody who willingly does a show with Chris Simms is obviously clueless. If I did a show with Simms, I wouldn’t last more than 25 minutes before I stuck a fork in his eye. Adam Schefter also called him a liar for poor reporting on Pete Carroll.

NBC has made some of the worst hires in sports media. Nobody cares what Florio thinks. They overpaid for Matthew Berry (who I dog walked two years in a row). Cris Collinsworth is impossible to listen to. Jason Garrett is so boring in the pregame shows. Maybe more people should be talking about this…
