Under Maintenance
We deeply apologize for interrupting your reading but Vendetta is currently undergoing some important maintenance! You may experience some layout shifts, slow loading times and dififculties in navigating.
If you missed the part where Bill Belichick stole your girl and your legacy in the same offseason, go read the article I just did on Jordon Hudson here. Go ahead. I’ll wait.
Now that you’re caught up on why the internet is collectively curled up in the fetal position, let’s get to today’s regularly scheduled programming.
The new North Carolina head football coach did some PR damage control (because everyone is weirdly jealous of him). During a recent podcast interview, Belichick explained why a deal couldn’t be reached on Hard Knocks.
VIA The Pivot podcast with Ryan Clark:
“The Hard Knocks thing, just for the record, Hard Knocks is training camp. And we’re not training camp,” Belichick said. “That’s not what we are, the drama of training camp, and who’s going to get cut and all that. We’re a season, and they don’t want that.
“There’s film issues, too. But forget about the film issues. Just say you could straighten all those out. The Hard Knocks just didn’t fit for us. That’s the bottom line.”
This is the same guy who did a full-on coach film room series with NFL Films and Underdog after getting fired. That’s not a retirement tour. That’s a rebrand. He still has the playbook—and the platforms—to torch people. It’s not like he didn’t want to do Hard Knocks. He just wanted it to be done on his terms. The guy has six Super Bowls. He deserves that right.
