Did anybody see this report come out the other day? That the Bears were actually considering benching Caleb Williams for Tyson Bagent. Even some players clamored for it. Shane Waldron ended up being the fall guy but still, a larger issue with the Bears needs to be brought up.
The Bears don’t have a Caleb Williams problem. The Bears have a design problem.
Has anybody noticed what’s going on with these other rookie quarterbacks?
Bo Nix is getting better.
Drake Maye is getting better.
Jayden Daniels is already really good.
Caleb Williams hasn’t gotten any better and he’s the most talented one out of all of them.
Is that Williams’ fault or has he been set up to fail? If you’re paying attention, you already know it’s the latter.
Matt Eberflus is a shitty head coach that doesn’t really bring anything to the table. Eberflus is 14-30 during his Bears tenure. Fun fact! He hasn’t won a single road game during that stretch. Not one. Of course, Williams would a hell of a lot better if Jim Harbaugh or Sean Payton were coaching him. Instead, Ryan Poles will die with the Eberflus ship. It’s totally idiotic Chicago didn’t pursue an elite coach but here we are.
Which goes back to the biggest problem with the Bears. The Bears have a Ryan Poles problem. The Bears have a design problem.
The Bills already learned this mistake. They look a hell of a lot better as a 12 team where you don’t have to worry about making a specific wide receiver happy.
Poles built a Madden team that can’t block anybody. Caleb Williams has been sacked 41 times through 10 games. David Carr was sacked a record 76 times as a rookie. That’s the way things are trending in Chicago. This three wide receiver set in windy Chicago is idiotic. They overpaid for Keenan Allen. He came in his pants over DJ Moore. Rome Odunze shouldn’t have been the pick if they already had those two in house. The one time they prioritized adding an offensive lineman, it was for Darnell Wright, who is incredibly average and they passed on Jalen Carter to do it.
It’s been a run of terrible draft decisions and poor overall decision making by Poles. That’s why the Bears continue to struggle.
Blame Caleb Williams all you want but it reeks of the same stuff that happened at the University of Oklahoma. A defensive head coach over his head looking for someone to blame while having no ability to actually develop the positon.
Doesn’t that sound familiar Bears fans?
