The road to the Super Bowl goes through New England. That appears like it is going to be the case for as long as Tom Brady is the quarterback of the Patriots. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made an interesting statement about the task at hand of defeating the Patriots.

“It’s the championship game. You’ve got one game to get to the Super Bowl. Like I said, you’re going up to the lion’s den, the dragon’s lair,” Ben Roethlisberger said Wednesday via ESPN. “They’re the dragon and we’re trying to slay them. It doesn’t matter who it is, but as I said they’re the gold standard”.

The Patriots haven’t lost a home playoff game since 2012 when Joe Flacco and the Ravens went on the eventually win the Super Bowl. Bill Belichick is 19-3 in home playoff games. Tom Brady will be in search of his 5th Super Bowl ring while Ben Big is looking for his 3rd.

The winner of this game will have implications towards their legacies moving forward. If Tom Brady wins he has to be considered the goat right? If Ben wins doesn’t he belong in the conversation for top 5 ever?
