Bam Adebayo Has Arrived

One of the key reasons for the Miami Heat’s success this year has been the emergence of Bam Adebayo. Only in his 3rd season, I was already expecting Bam to be one of the better centers in the league sooner or later. It just came faster than I thought. He started impressing at the end of the year last year. But the way he increased his numbers exponentially is baffling.

Bam Adebayo Stats

He almost doubled his stats from last year in his 3rd season. He is currently averaging 15.6 PPG on 56.3% shooting, 4.6 APG, and 10.6 RPG in 34 minutes. Compared to last year when he only had 8 points, 2 assists, and 7 rebounds a game, he has obviously progressed gracefully. The scary part is that he is only in his 3rd season and still has so much room to grow for his career.

As of right now, the Heat are currently tied for 2nd in the East. With Bam Adebayo being the best big man on that team, there’s no question he is a big part of the Heat’s success. Other than his stats, he has been a great rim protector for the Heat. He currently is 4th for the Heat’s scoring, however, he is only .4 points behind 2nd. So, it is safe to say he can be the Heat’s 2nd leading scorer on any given night. With obviously averaging 10+ rebounds a game, he is the Heat’s leading rebounder. The most surprising of all of this is that he is the 3rd leading Heat’s assist man. As we can tell, he is one of the focal points for the Miami Heat, like Jimmy Butler, and is so crucial to their success. The scary part is that I don’t think he is anywhere near his ceiling either.
