No NFL team has had a worse offseason than the Baltimore Ravens. CJ Mosley, Terrell Suggs, Alex Collins, Eric Weddle, Za’Darius Smith, and John Brown are all gone. This team stinks right now. As the Ravens head into the 2019 NFL Draft, there’s a lot of holes to fill on both sides of the ball. Because of the Lamar Jackson trade up, they also don’t have a second round pick either. Well, let’s head into the war room. What can we expect from the Baltimore Ravens during the 2019 NFL Draft?
First Round (Pick 22) – The Ravens could go a number of different ways. With Mosley leaving, Devin Bush has to be a consideration. I don’t see how you can go into the season with Kenny Young and Patrick Onwuasor as your starting middle linebackers. That’s a disaster waiting to happen. Enter Devin Bush who has great range and speed. He’s a leader the Ravens need moving forward.
Third Round (Pick 86) – Baltimore has zero pass rushers. Right now you’re looking at Tim Williams, Matt Judon, and Tyus Bowser. Good luck with that. Jalen Jelks of Oregon could be an option. They need edge rushers and Jelks is that typical Oregon guy. Speed and slippery off the edge. I don’t care who they pick. They can’t enter the season with no pass rushers. You’re asking to lose.
Third Round (Pick 103) – This is a comp pick the Ravens got for losing a free agent. I can’t believe they got one this high for losing Ryan Jensen who sucks. This has to be a spot where wide receiver is addressed. I get the fact that Lamar Jackson can’t throw the ball but Willie Snead, Chris Moore, and Jordan Lasley has to be the worst wide receiver group in the league. Has to be. This pick really won’t matter until Baltimore is smart enough to realize that Lamar Jackson can’t play. Either way, you can’t go into the season with this. It’s embarrassing. I wouldn’t be shocked if this pick turns into JJ Arcega-Whiteside. He can block and really is a jump ball receiver. Jackson isn’t an accurate quarterback so getting a receiver that wins contested catches is important.
This Ravens team is going backwards fast. I’ll be shocked if they win more than 5 games. This roster needs almost everything except for a safety and tight end.
