Former Ballplayer Aubrey Huff Really Needs To Shut The Fuck Up

Let me make one thing clear: I do not write about politics, so former Silver Slugger first baseman Aubrey Huff can have his opinions regarding former president Trump. Not that I agree with him, but I simply do not care in this instance. What I do care about is his blatant misogyny and sexism on Twitter. He also has no problem bullying people on social media for having a difference in opinion, and that is where I draw the line.

On July 20th, the first woman-only broadcast crew ever made history by calling the Rays – Orioles game streamed on Youtube, setting an amazing milestone for women in sports in the process.

Of course, not everyone was happy, and Huff had plenty to say. On July 21, he tweeted what in his mind was a joke, but it was nothing short of sexist and misogynistic.

Women are for after the game, not during the game.” – Aubrey Huff on twitter

Let us not forget that the San Francisco Giants did not invite Huff to the 2010 World Series celebration in February 2020. Huff claims he was not invited because of his support for Donald Trump, but the Tweets that forced the Giants to leave him off the invitation list were even more vile and disgusting. Twitter deleted Huff’s tweet but it read as follows:

Let’s get a flight over and kidnap about 10 each. We can bring them back here as they fan us and feed us grapes, amongst other things.” – Aubrey Huff on Twitter

The Giants had also hired the first-ever full-time female coach, Alyssa Nakken, in January of 2020 and Huff simply had to chime in with a gross and unwarranted comment.

Couldn’t imagine taking baseball instruction from an ex female softball player. Have fun with that @bcraw35@bbelt9@BusterPosey.” -Aubrey Huff

I got in trouble for wearing a thong in my own clubhouse when female reporters were present. Can’t imagine how it will play out with a full time female coach running around. This has #metoo & #BelieveAllWomen written all over it. Only in ⁦@SFGiants” -Aubrey Huff

Huff needs to consider that some things are better left unsaid. His ego makes it easy for him to express his opinion, but his only outlet for voicing that opinion is apparently social media. I know I speak for many when I say: Aubrey Huff, shut the fuck up.
