Andy Reid is heading into the 2017 postseason with perhaps his best team yet. One player who has brought a spark to this Chiefs team is X-Factor Tyreek Hill. The NFL’s fastest player has clocked in at 22 MPH on a few occasions this season. Coach Reid spoke highly of his rookie sensation.
“I look at that, and he’d get a speeding ticket in a school zone, he’s going 22 mph — that’s pretty good,” Reid said Tuesday, via The Kansas City Star. “He’s moving pretty fast. When he goes by you, it’s amazing how fast he can corner and edge things.
“A lot of guys have speed, but can’t corner, they don’t have the quickness that he has. He has a unique blend there. He’s fun to watch.”
We all know Hill was fast but we didn’t expect the 6th round rookie to be in contention for rookie of the year. Reid knows he has something special with Hill who has scored 12 touchdowns this year. The Chiefs head man compared his guy to one of his former players back when Reid was the head coach of the Eagles.
“I had DeSean Jackson and he kind of was the same,” Reid explained. “When he was young he did all of the return stuff, we moved him all around the offense, he took snaps as a quarterback, we had him everywhere. He made it to the Pro Bowl in two different positions — as a wide receiver and a returner.”
