Andrew Booth 2022 NFL Draft Profile

This year’s draft class at Cornerback, in my opinion, has nice depth and big-name talent at the top of the list. The two big names in this class are Ahmad Gardner and Derek Stingley. Beyond those two, there has been debate on who is the next guy up, and I believe it is Andrew Booth. Booth was a 5-star recruit from Lawrenceville, GA, and took his talents to Clemson over schools like Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, and others. Here is our 2022 NFL Draft Profile on Andrew Booth.

Andrew Booth did not work out at the NFL Combine, nursing an injury at the time. Booth also did not work out at the Clemson Pro Day.

Let’s get into the good, and there is a lot. He has great size for a player in his position (6′, 200 lbs), and he uses his size well in both man and zone coverage. He has great feet and his twitch about him is something you can’t teach. His backpedal always looks smooth and his pad level when changing direction is fairly consistent. While his interception total wouldn’t show it, he has quality ball skills. Booth has good strength too, which he uses for press at the line against receivers. His coverage underneath is better than when he is man-to-man.

For me, one of his biggest downfalls is tackling. I love a corner who is a willing and able tackler, and Booth lacks the consistency needed at the next level. Booth was only called for one penalty in college, outside of an ejection against Louisville in 2021, but he can get a little hands beyond the line of scrimmage. When up against a pure route runner, he can get turned around quite often. Teams might be concerned about his right knee which had tendinitis before and had surgery on a patella tendon in 2020.

Andrew Booth is a quality prospect in this 2022 NFL Draft class. He checks off all the things you look for in a blue-chip prospect, and he will only get better. I think he should be a late first-round prospect, but I wouldn’t be surprised if/when he falls into the second round. Booth is worth moving up and grabbing, and you can thank me later.
