Amari Cooper: ‘I Want To Be A Cowboy For Life’

The Dallas Cowboys have a lot of players to take care of in free agency. Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, and Byron Jones are the big hitters. Byron Jones looks like has has one foot out the door. We know that Dak Prescott is getting hit with the franchise tag. Amari Cooper seems like the one wild card here. Cooper made it pretty clear he wants to be in Dallas for the long haul.

Amari Cooper wants to be a Cowboy for life:

“I love being a Dallas Cowboy,” Cooper said Thursday night on 105.3 The Fan. “I think about it almost every day. Just the aura of being a Dallas Cowboy, you can’t beat it. I want to be a Dallas Cowboy for life.”

This one feels like a long term deal will eventually get worked out in the end. Cooper wants to stay and Dallas gave up a first round pick to trade for the former Raiders wide out. There’s motivation on both sides to get it done. Oh, and there’s that fact that Dak Prescott basically stinks without him the last two years. Dallas needs to make Amari Cooper a priority.

Cooper, 25, spent a large portion of the 2019 season on the injury report dealing with foot, quadriceps, ankle and a knee issue. Still, Cooper suited up every single week and put together a productive season. The former first round pick from Alabama reeled in 79 catches for 1,189 yards and eight touchdowns.

If Dallas is unable to reach a long term deal, all is not lost. Michael Gallup is starting to emerge. It’s also a loaded receiver draft so Dallas won’t have a hard time finding another weapon. Still, expect Dallas to get something done here in the end.
