Amanda Nunes is one of the greatest MMA fighters to ever live. She is currently the UFC featherweight and bantamweight champion. Nunes is currently 22-5 in her career and is taking on Irene Aldana at UFC 289. The UFC women’s bantamweight championship will be on the line as Nunes is a favorite in that bout.
When speaking to the New York Post, Nunes was asked if she has ever considered joining the WWE. Her answer was interesting.
Nunes is open to joining the WWE once her MMA career is done. However, the contract would have to be right for her to join the company. She is already one of the best MMA fighters ever, so it makes sense for her to try out the WWE. However, she still wants to be in MMA for the time being.
It’s worth noting that there have been plenty of MMA-turned-wrestlers in the past. The most notable are Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. Rousey and Baszler are former world champions in NXT and WWE, and the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Many wrestlers have gone from professional wrestling to MMA, including Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley and Jake Hager, all of whom had careers in MMA.
WWE was recently sold to Endeavor, which is the parent company of the UFC. Now more than ever, fans could see a crossover between the two sports.
There have been a lot of people who have found success in WWE in MMA, wrestling and more, so it’s safe to assume that Amanda Nunes would be a good fit for the WWE, if she ever wanted to join the company.
