Aidan Chiles Enters The Transfer Portal

Oregon State isn’t just losing one quarterback via the transfer portal. DJ Uiagalelei has already hit the portal. Now Aidan Chiles is doing the same. Chiles was in line to replace DJ U and now will also leave for greener pastures.

Chiles, 18, just completed his freshman season. He actually did get on the field, although it was in limited action. The former four-star quarterback completed 24 of 35 attempts including four touchdowns and no interceptions. The Duel Threat quarterback also completed 68.6% of his throws. Chiles certainly showed he has a lot of potential. Chiles also has a decorated basketball background and is viewed as a highly athletic quarterback that can make plays in a multitude of ways.

It’s hard not to come back to the Jonathan Smith move. With Smith on his way to Michigan State, the players at Oregon State seem to be following him out the door. The lone exception is running back Damien Martinez who appears to be sticking around at Oregon State. The disappearance of the Pac-12 probably doesn’t help matters either.

There is an insane amount of quarterback talent in the portal right now. Chiles will get a chance somewhere and is young enough to garner interest from all sorts of programs. There are so many names in the portal that it feels impossible to project landing spots for any of these guys.
