Agent For Giancarlo Stanton Blasts Brian Cashman

I tried to warn you this was coming. If you haven’t seen the comments that Brian Cashman made, I encourage you to check them out with this link here. Once you’re done come on back because we need to talk about this brewing feud between Cashman, Giancarlo Stanton, and his agent.

Cashman is a loose cannon right now. He’s just saying whatever he wants to with no regard to the consequences. I really tried to tell you this would backfire. Stanton’s agent did not leave this unattended.

Don’t click the link on the quote. It’s behind a paywall because Rosenthal decided to take a job with that trash network called The Athletic.

“I read the context of the entire interview. I think it’s a good reminder for all free agents considering signing in New York, both foreign and domestic, that to play for that team, you’ve got to be made of Teflon, both mentally and physically, because you can never let your guard down, even in the offseason,” Wolfe said, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

Joel Wolfe is part of the Wasserman group and currently represents 25 players. Nolan Arenado, Yu Darvish, Trevor Story, and Stanton are among his notable clients. Lesson number one as an executive in any sport. Don’t piss off an agent for no reason. That’s exactly what Cashman did here. There was absolutely no reason to say what he said in the media. Now Wolfe is putting out a memo that players should think twice before they sign with the Yankees.

None of this seems ideal for any organization to deal with. All because Cashman had to run his mouth for no reason.

The Yankees are stuck with this guy. It is what it is. Stanton is under contract through at least 2028. Stanton, 34, is also coming off a season where he slashed .191/.275/.420. I’m sure this will end well.

Never forget.
