AEW Dynamite Preview (7/6/22): Multiple Title Matches Set for the Show

AEW Dynamite is set to be another great show with two title matches and a couple of tag-team matches. We are one week removed from Blood & Guts, so this is the fallout of that show. There are a lot of grudge matches set and questions to be answered, so let’s get into the show’s preview.

Christian Cage & Luchasaurus Appear Live

Christian Cage and Luchasaurus are set to appear on the show. At the time of writing, it has not been clarified what they are going to be doing. After Luchasaurus decimated Serpentico last week, my guess would be he is going to have another match. I think that we are going to get another promo from Cage too. Keep an eye out for Jungle Boy to return as well, he should be back any week now. He has not been seen since Cage turned on him and hit him with a conchairto.

The Butcher & The Blade vs Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland

Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland are trying to repair their relationship. Strickland turned on Lee and eliminated him from a battle royal where the winner got a chance to qualify for a match to become the interim world champion. Ever since then, their relationship has been rocky. Lee has been hesitant to trust Strickland again. The tag team did get some momentum after they beat Yoshinobu and El Desperado at Forbidden Door. It seems like they are starting to get back on the right track and a win here will help their momentum and damaged relationship. The Butcher and The Blad are no pushovers. They’re 4-1 so far this year and have over 40 wins in their AEW careers. They are quick, hard-hitting, punch-you-in-the-mouth style wrestlers. Swerve and Lee are going to have to be on the same page if they want to pull out a victory.

Nyla Rose & Marina Shafir vs Toni Storm & Thunder Rosa (c)

Rose, Shafir, Storm, and Ross have all been going after each other lately. It all started when Shafir lost to Thunder Rosa and she and Rose attacked Rosa after the match. Storm came down to even the odds and fought them off. Shafir faced off against Storm prior to the latter facing Thunder Rosa at Forbidden Door. Storm went on to win, but Shafir and Rose attacked her after the match. Thunder Rosa came down to help Storm. Storm and Thunder Rosa faced off at Forbidden Door for the AEW Women’s Championship. Rosa picked up the victory and there was no bad blood between the two women. Storm picked up a huge victory against the number one ranked women’s wrestler, Nyla Rose, at Blood & Guts.

These women are now facing each other in a tag team match on AEW Dynamite. After beating the No. 1 ranked women’s wrestler, you have to imagine that Storm is eyeing another chance at the AEW Women’s Championship. Will Storm and Rosa be able to co-exist once again?

*Street Fight for the TNT Championship*

Wardlow vs Scorpio Sky (c)

Wardlow is set for another shot at the TNT Championship. He is facing the champion, Scorpio Sky, in a street fight. Wardlow has been waiting for an opportunity at the TNT title, ever since he became an actual member of the AEW roster. Sky has been trying to bring some legacy and meaning back to the TNT title. Finally done with his feud with Sammy Guevara, he can try to prove that he is the greatest TNT Champion ever.

Wardlow has been on a tear lately and it seems like he has all of the momentum in the world. He is the No. 1 ranked men’s wrestler on the roster and has a record of 14-2 this year. He has accumulated over 50 wins in his career, which is a big milestone. Wardlow is looking to capture his first title in AEW in a match that favors him.

*Interim AEW World Championship Match*

Brody King vs Jon Moxley (c)

Jon Moxley earned the interim AEW World Championship after beating Hiroshi Tanahashi at Forbidden Door. He gets his first challenger for the title in Brody King. King won the royal rampage on this past week’s AEW Rampage. It was a battle royal that spanned across two rings. The winner of each ring would then meet in a normal battle royal match, and it came down to King and Darby Allin. The two fought it out, but King eliminated Allin in what was probably one of the best eliminations I have ever seen.

This match has all of the ingredients to be a hard-hitting contest for AEW Dynamite. Both of these men are physical and seem to enjoy feeling pain. King is a beast and does things at his size that he shouldn’t be able to do. Moxley has all of the heart in the world and the fans behind him. He is a former AEW World Champion, so being on a stage with the bright lights shining on him is nothing new to Moxley.
