Aaron Nola Expresses Desire To Stay With Phillies

The Phillies have another crack at the apple in their pursuit to win a World Series with this group. It could be the last run with Aaron Nola in a Phillies uniform. The former LSU product is set to hit unrestricted free agency at the end of the 2023 MLB Season. Nola made sure to express that he would love to stick around with the Phillies for the foreseeable future.

“Yeah, I hope so. I really do. I love it here,” Nola said Monday when asked if he’d like to stay with the Phillies beyond this season, according to ASAP Sports. “Obviously, it’s the only place I’ve been. I came up through some special times in the rebuilding era and getting to witness and be a part of a lot of different types of teams.

“To be on a team like I am now, it’s really cool and special to see and to be a part of all the success and failures to get to where we are now.”

It should be noted that the Phillies were really smart to extend Nola back in 2019. They bought out a bunch of his free agency years and was a great piece of business.

Nola, 30, will be one of the best starting pitchers available this Winter. 2023 wasn’t Nola’s best year but he posted a 4.46 ERA in 32 starts. He still struck out 202 batters on the season. 2018 was his best season where he posted a 2.42 ERA and made the All-Star team.
