I can’t believe Aaron Gordon got robbed TWICE. The first time he was robbed it was in 2016 when he did put the ball under BOTH of his legs and dunked it. One of the best dunks I’ve ever seen. Now, he was robbed of what should have been his 2nd trophy. He DUNKED over Tacko Fall, the tallest player in the NBA. For those that said he didn’t “really” dunk over him. HE WAS CLOSE ENOUGH. That’s a lot of talk coming from y’all who can’t jump over 1 foot. Now, he doesn’t want to participate in the Dunk contest anymore. Hell, I wouldn’t either if I got robbed TWICE in two separate years. Aaron Gordon has more memorable dunks than most of those who participated in the NBA dunk contest. It’s absolutely rigged he didn’t win at least one.
This is not to discredit Zach Lavine, the 2016 winner, or Derrick Jones Jr., the winner in 2020. Both had impressive dunks. But Aaron Gordon’s dunks are way better in my opinion. Most people will agree with me on this too. There is something wrong with the voting because Dwight Howard got a 49 for a pretty basic dunk. On Aaron Gordon’s dunk over Tacko Fall, it only scored a 47. Not to mention that Dwyane Wade even said he wanted the Miami Heat Players to win. Derrick Jones Jr. won the dunk contest, coincidence? I don’t think so.
MORE ABOUT THE FESTIVITIES OF ALL-STAR WEEKEND!!
I’m just not sure what else Aaron Gordon has to do to win one of these dunk contests. He is undoubtedly one of the best dunkers the NBA has ever seen but has nothing to show for it. Sure, I get it, it’s just the All-Star Dunk competition, it’s not the most important thing in the world. But, sometimes you want to be recognized for your abilities. Now, he might not ever participate in a dunk contest ever again, and it’s all the judges’ fault.
