Detroit Lions 2019 NFL Draft War Room

If you have to make one bet in life, betting on the Lions to have a top 10 draft pick feels like a safe one to make year after year. This team just never gets better. I actually like Matthew Stafford but the guy never had a shot. It’s the Lions. It’s just in their DNA. This feels like a make or break year for the Lions. Is it time to move off Stafford? Is Matt Patricia a winning head coach? Nailing the 2019 NFL Draft is a good place to start. Let’s head inside the Detroit Lions 2019 NFL Draft War Room.

First Round (Pick 8) – If Devin White is on the board, the Lions should take him. They have done a really nice job building the defensive line but they have a real shitty linebacking core. They can’t cover anything over the middle of the field. White fixes those issues immediately. White is a tackling machine and gives the Lions a leader on defense. Makes too much sense so I don’t the Lions pick him.

Second Round (Pick 43) – I think a corner would fit nicely here. If the group of Deandre Baker, Byron Murphy, or Greedy Williams falls this far… that may be the way to go. Maybe the Lions move up a few spots to get it done. So be it. Teez Tabor isn’t it. He has to go. Darius Slay has been a one man show for far too long. Get another stud corner and this defense elevates to levels I never have seen the Lions reach in my lifetime.

Third Round (Pick 89) – This is actually the Golden Tate pick from Philly. The Lions third round pick is New England property. I think the Lions go guard here. Frank Ragnow wasn’t great as a rookie but he’s one starter penciled in. The other guard spot is wide open. Let’s fix that. There’s a lot of them to choose from.
