Miami Dolphins 2018 NFL Draft War Room

The Miami Dolphins are really the Browns except with much nicer weather. The dysfunction doesn’t get enough headlines. Whether it was lying about shopping Jarvis Landry or claiming Jay Ajayi was a problem but had no problem winning a Super Bowl with Philly, the Dolphins are a mess. This roster stinks are Ryan Tannehill isn’t the answer at quarterback either. The good news is Miami has a good head coach but he can only take them so far. Having said that, what can we expect from the Miami Dolphins in the 2018 NFL Draft?

Miami holds the 11th pick in the draft. Truly nothing matters for this franchise until they land a quarterback. While this would be a horrible mistake, don’t be surprised if Baker Mayfield is their guy. Would Mayfield’s ego last in a city like Miami? Well, probably not. However, Mayfield probably works better in a warm-weather city. The ghost of the trainers that failed Drew Brees on the physical might try to reincarnate him. Miami may have to trade up for him but I would expect Miami to be in the quarterback market.

In the second round, pick a spot, this roster stinks. How about a replacement for Ndamukong Suh? Harrison Phillips seems like a stand-up dude who would be a high motor guy for the Dolphins. Phillips played well at the Senior Bowl and tested better than expected. You don’t see a lot of defensive tackles reel in 7.5 sacks but that’s what Phillips did in 2017. Stanford prospects have translated well to the NFL and seems like a safe pick.

Re-Drafting the Top 15 Selections of the 2017 NFL Draft

In the third round, Miami needs to find a replacement for Mike Pouncey. Frank Ragnow of Arkansas is a really underrated prospect and might be the best center in the class. An ankle injury hampered his play in 2017 but this dude is a really solid player. Miami needs to invest in this offensive line because Laremy Tunsil is the only thing they have going for them.
