Cincinnati Bengals 2018 NFL Draft War Room

The 2018 NFL Draft war room series continues on with the most irrelevant franchise in the league today, the Cincinnati Bengals. As long as Marvin Lewis and Andy Dalton continue to lead the franchise, I’m not sure how anyone can even watch the Bengals. Cincy made an even more curious move when they traded for Cordy Glenn to move down in the draft. While I feel like I waste valuable time in my life talking about this dysfunctional organization, what can we expect from the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2018 NFL Draft?

Linebacker needs to be a spot of need. While Vontaze Burfict is one of the best in the business, the Bengals have no idea how to coach him up so it’s time to look in another direction. Rashaan Evans of Alabama could be an interesting option. Regardless, Burfict is suspended again and the Bengals just need to get their long-term answer in-house. Alabama linebackers have been hits in years past like C.J. Mosely and Dont’a Hightower.

Cincinnati holds the 21st pick in the first-round after moving down from the 12th pick in the trade with the Bills. Glenn helps fill the black hole at left tackle so that likely signals that they aren’t done trying to upgrade that unit. Chuks Okorafor would be a nice development tackle to take in the 2nd or 3rd round. Okorafor has big-time talent but comes in a bit raw. Okorafor started at left tackle for Western Michigan and has a huge wingspan with potential oozing. Jake Fisher and Cedric Ogbeuhi have not panned out. Cordy Glenn is not a long-term fix either. Investing in that offensive line also needs to be on the to-do list based on the heavy investment in Joe Mixon.
