Sam Bradford Signs One-Year Deal Plus Option With Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals are apparently so desperate at quarterback that they just handed every penny that they had to a quarterback who flat out stinks. Sam Bradford, the collector of checks, spent 95 percent of the 2017 season on the sidelines after being injured for the 800th time. Remember when that report came out about Sam Bradford’s knees being so corrosive that they were career ending? Apparently, the Cardinals don’t care and have decided to invest all of their remaining cap space on Sam Bradford.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport was the first to report the news:

The Vikings have already turned to Kirk Cousins as the next leader of their franchise. With Cousins heading to the Vikings on a lucrative contract, the trio of Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater, and Sam Bradford will head elsewhere. Keenum has already found his landing spot with Denver and now Bradford also heads west to land in the NFC West with Arizona. Cousins is clearly the best of that group but is he worth a fully guaranteed deal?

Arizona had their own quarterback carousel in 2017 with Carson Palmer, Drew Stanton, and Blaine Gabbert. Palmer even retired because he was constantly injured. Maybe Cardinals head executive, Steve Keim, has some sort of weird fetish about reviving injury plagued quarterbacks! Weird! To give Sam Bradford $20 million a year is complete lunacy. Bradford has never won a playoff game in his eight-year career. Bradford has also only played a full 16 game season just twice.

Bradford has played for the Rams, Eagles, Vikings, and now Cardinals. He has literally suited up for a fourth of the total teams in the NFC. Bradford’s career record in the NFL is 34-45-1. Arizona just paid $20 million a year for that.
