Best Bets For The 2023 NFL Draft

With the 2023 NFL Draft a little more than 24 hours away, we will look at some of the best bets you can place on the event. I’ll be honest, the lines this year aren’t as great as they were last year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make a little money and watch the chaos ensue. I will give you my best bets for the draft — tail or fade as you wish.

Total Tight Ends drafted in first round (u2, +225):

One of my favorites right out of the gate. I think there is probably only one tight end worth taking in the first round and that’s Darnell Washington out of Georgia. However, this has been touted as a great class and someone is probably going to take Michael Mayer or Dalton Kincaid or potentially both. I can’t imagine two actually going, which makes this bet intriguing. If by some chance a second does get drafted, it’s a push.

u19.5 Draft Position — Joey Porter Jr. (+140):

Joey Porter Jr., the second-best defensive back in this 2023 NFL Draft class, has been linked to multiple teams ranging from No. 13 to 17. I find it hard to believe that if he is on the board when the Steelers pick that he wouldn’t be taken. That’s to say if he isn’t taken by New England or Washington. If he does somehow make it past 17, he is well worth a trade-up in the draft to get him. Another one of my favorite best bets for the draft.

u8.5 Draft Position — Christian Gonzalez (-120):

The best defensive back in this class doesn’t make it past the Raiders at No. 7. Christian Gonzalez has been getting mega hype during this draft cycle, and rightfully so. He would be a massive upgrade at the position for both Vegas and Detroit a pick ahead of them. Both teams need a bonafide CB1, and Gonzalez can come in on day one and fill that role for either team.

Total Defensive Backs drafted in first round (o5.5, -195):

A safer bet, as the top of this cornerback class is pretty stacked, and as are likely to see safety in there as well. Your six guys are Christian Gonzalez, Devon Witherspoon, Porter Jr., Deonte Banks, Kelee Ringo, and Brian Branch. The player who is the wild card in this scenario is Ringo, as he has fallen a little on boards but is still well worth a first-round selection for that fifth-year option.

Top-10 pick — Bijan Robinson (-110):

Does Howie Roseman have the fellas to pull off this pick? It’s a very trendy pick right now as the Philadelphia Eagles do not have many holes to fill. Plus, they have another first-round pick so they could afford to take one of the best players in the draft at No. 10. The narrative that running backs aren’t first-round pick is true nine out of ten years, but this is that tenth year. Bijan Robinson is a 1,300-yard runner and 50-pass catcher in his rookie year.

1st Round — O’Cyrus Torrence (-175):

The best interior offensive linemen in the 2023 NFL Draft cycle is bound to go in the first round. If he escapes the first round it would be a crime. Florida’s O’Cyrus Torrence is a plug-and-play day-one starter and will instantly make that offensive line better. This guard class doesn’t have much depth, so someone needs to take him early and avoid picking someone else out of the bin in the later rounds for someone who may or may not stick. Torrence will stick.
